National Swimmers in 2011

We had an awesome time in San Antonio, Texas for this years State Meet. The Weatherford Water Roos boys 9-10 Free Relay was the highpoint of the week-end when they smashed the other relays by coming in first! It was an excellent race to watch and incredible victory for these boys who have been swimming together in some form of a relay for a couple of years now.

Starting on the bottom right is John Russum who started out the relay. Next to him, going left in the photo, is Clayton Cray who was swimming the second leg. Brazos Hard, to Clayton's left, swam third and bringing it home in the anchor leg was Jeremiah Carlson on the far bottom left corner of the photo!

Pictured in the back left is Kristy Weaver, the Director of the whole Taft Events in San Antonio and also our local Weatherford Parks and Recreation Director. Linda Williams is the head coach for the Water Roos with Jonathan Carlson (a competitor and youth coach to Linda's right followed by the team assistant coach, Debra Wood.

W'ford Swim Team... the Water Roos

Well this week-end we are heading to our yearly regional meet in Keller, Texas and we have quite a few shining stars on this team, I might add. We have two swimmers who have competed two years ago at the national swim meet in Colorado and one of those swimmers (Audrey) even won first place. Audrey can be seen here with Jaelle as they finished their IM swim at the Cleburne meet the last week-end in June.

We have a great team attitude in which we cheer each other on to victory! Go Roos! To view swim team galleries go link found on the right of this blog or click on the link above.

TEA PARTY: July 04, 2009

There was another great turnout in Weatherford for the second TEA party to tell legislators that we are TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY! From the reports I have heard, even the media is having to take notice as this is not just a passing fad, it is a growing movement. Because of the power of the Internet and Blogs like mine, people are networking and joining forces that is making a difference.

At this event the Parker/Wise State Representative Phil King spoke as well as the Texas State Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams. He is reaching out to voters as he would like to be the US Congressman for the state of Texas in the seat currently held by Kay Bailey Hutchison. He talked about how he hasn't taken the allocated raise that has been given to him by the state for the past few years. He made it known that he doesn't agree with the current presidential leader and his direction! He really reached out to the crowd and was received really well! His message was inspiring to me this time as well as the last time I heard him speak, a little over a year ago at the Texas Republican Convention held in Houston, Texas.

Write this name down, Michael Williams...a very personable man, a great Texan, an outspoken conservative and he has my vote! To view more photos from this event, go to the links on the right and click!

Prom - ooh la la!

May 15, 2009 was a great time with the ACS group at the Colonial Country Club in Ft. Worth, Texas for their formal night. A night of fun, laughter, eating and dancing. What a fabulous evening for all that attended.

The night began as different ones strolled in checking out the elaborate set-up. Random photos were snapped, dinner was served and then the mass exodus of men left for a "restroom" break. While away, the girls slipped outside for their own disappearing act.

The instructor was ready and the lessons began as we were each formally introduced to several techniques used for different dances. The whole evening was full of dancers. Not like any prom I had ever been too.

Finally at 11:00 PM the dance floor was clear, people were packing up and cars were leaving, but the night was far from over. The party continued as a swimming night until the wee hours of the morning.

My flower girl is getting married!

Where have the days gone? Just the other day it was me and my BO planning our big deal and now, some (uch-hum) few years later my very own flower girl is getting married. She was just three and now all my six children are older than three! Just the year before my ring-bearer (he was also three) got married too.
What a beautiful bride she was...don't you agree? Stunningly beautiful and dressed so elegant. A classy wedding indeed. Fabulous fun, incredible food, glorious colors...a WONDERFUL evening!
Is this possible that twenty years have just evaporated? How can the days be ticking by so fast? I remember hearing people say, "That before you know it, you will blink and twenty years will have flown by." Well, it is true! Twenty plus years have just melted away like snow on a warm April morning in Minnesota. Carpe Diem...seize the day. Use each day wisely because before you know it, it will be another twenty years and it will be you recalling someone once saying...
